| Hi CTCC Family. I want to thank all of you for supporting our team in the 2010 Tour de Cure to Fight Diabetes. Whether is was financial or spiritual, your support is appreciated by Anthony, Tony and me. In summary, the event was great. The weather was perfect. The entire event was well organized and ran like clockwork. The ride was supposed to start at 7:00 a.m. It started exactly at 7:00. The rest stops were loaded with everything, including very nice hosts who made sure everybody had what they needed. There were about 20 motorcycles providing escort and general assistance all along the course. There were 5 SAG wagons. The route slips were very easy to use... but you didn't need them because the streets were very clearly marked. The 20, 33 and 60 mile routes were challenging but do-able. There were exit /turn-around points for those who needed to shorten their ride. And the Tour de Cure people were simply the perfect hosts. In addition to the ADA / Tour de Cure staff and committee members there was a large contingent of volunteers (easy to spot in their bright green t-shirts) who were busy making the whole thing work. Like I said, it was great. I admit I'm biased, but please check with Tony and Anthony for a more objective opinion. Let me say this, we were almost the last people to leave the party in the park - they were literally putting the chairs and tables on the trucks when we left. The parking lot was empty! What does that tell you? Hopefully we will do it bigger and better, the CTCC way, in 2011. Thanks again for the love. Marty, 2010 Tour de Cure Team Captain. |
